Kobil Ruziev

Dr. Kobil Ruziev is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). His research focuses on banking and financial reform in emerging economies, SME access to formal finance, institutional economics, higher education reforms, and economic transformation in the former Soviet Union, particularly Central Asian economies. Before joining UWE Bristol in February 2013, he served as a lecturer in Economics at Aberystwyth University.

Teaching and Qualifications: He holds a PhD and is recognized as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). He received the Aberystwyth University Teaching Excellence Award in 2011.

Research Grants: His funded projects include initiatives like Building Inclusive Networks to Support University Selection Decision-making (2023–2024) and Widening Access to Economics (2022–2023), both supported by the Higher Education Innovation Fund, and a British Academy-funded study on informal credit in Uzbekistan (2009–2011).
