Klaus Pors

Klaus Pors is a Professor of Chemical Biology at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the School of Pharmacy & Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Life Sciences. He holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern Denmark (1998) and advanced studies in Medicinal Chemistry from the UCL School of Pharmacy (2002). His career includes a PhD and postdoctoral research at UCL (2002–2005), followed by roles as lecturer (2005), Senior Lecturer (2013), and Professor (2021) at the University of Bradford’s Institute of Cancer Therapeutics.

His research bridges chemistry and biology, focusing on tumor-selective therapies, hypoxia-activated prodrugs, ALDH/AKR1C3 inhibitors, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and molecular fluorescent probes for imaging. His work is supported by Breast Cancer Now, The Schlumberger Foundation, and others. He teaches courses on drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, and cancer research.
