Klaus Hubacek is a Professor in Science, Technology, and Society at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and chairs the Integrated Research on Energy, Environment and Society (IREES) and the board of the Energy and Sustainability Research Institute Groningen (ESRIG). He holds visiting professorships at the University of Maryland, College Park, and Shandong University.
