Kira Bailey

Kira Bailey is the David O. Robbins Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program Director at Ohio Wesleyan University. She joined the faculty in 2015 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Missouri – Columbia.

• Education:
  • B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, Concord University
  • M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology, Iowa State University

Her research focuses on how experience modifies neural bases of cognitive control, affective information processing, and decision-making. She investigates:

• Effects of video games on emotion and cognition
• Relationship between pathological gaming and impulsivity/decision-making under risk
• Neural impacts of alcohol use and individual differences in alcohol sensitivity

She was awarded the 2021 Sherwood Dodge Shankland Award for her contributions to teaching.
