Kindon Mills

Kindon Mills is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture, where she also coordinates the Fourth Year UG Studio. Her career focuses on making design affordable and sustainable, emphasizing minimal solutions to reduce building costs and environmental impact.

• M.Arch. in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology

Research Interests: Kindon’s work spans sustainable architecture, adaptive reuse, and resource-efficient design, prioritizing reduced ecological disruption. She integrates community responsibility into architectural practice, examining energy flows and material systems. Her research also explores historical craft practices traditionally associated with women, such as textiles and ceramics, and their influence on architectural value and traditional making methods.
