Dr. Kimberly C. Claeys is an Associate Professor in the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with a focus on diagnostic stewardship in healthcare-associated infections, particularly UTIs. Dr. Claeys is a Fellow of the Center for Innovation in Diagnosis and a 2022/23 Scholar in Diagnostic Excellence from the National Academy of Medicine.
Her research emphasizes antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship, implementation science for improving antibiotic use, and rapid diagnostic testing (RDT) for bacterial infections.
