Dr. Kim Stroet is an Assistant Professor at Leiden University's Institute of Education and Child Studies. Her research examines teacher-student interactions, motivation, and self-regulated learning in diverse educational contexts, with a focus on cognitive autonomy and inclusive communities. She collaborates with primary schools in The Hague and Leiden on projects related to educational equity and differentiation.
Her research interests center on cognitive development, learning strategies, and how motivation/engagement can be nurtured in heterogeneous classrooms. Current projects analyze factors influencing unfair opportunities in education transitions and the impact of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She teaches in the Pedagogical Sciences bachelor's program and co-develops academic teacher training emphasizing diversity and sustainability.
