Dr. Kim Hahn is the Associate Dean of the College of Arts and a full Professor at the School of Fashion, Kent State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an M.A. in Fashion Design, and a B.S. from Yonsei University, Seoul.
Her research focuses on consumer behavior, cultural influences on fashion, and sustainability. She explores cross-cultural textile practices, sustainable fashion innovation, and the intersection of technology with design education. Dr. Hahn has created over 40 original wearable artworks and received the 2018 Presidents’ Faculty Excellence Award.
Her recent publications investigate industry-education gaps, body positivity in fashion, and global consumer decision-making. She serves as Associate Guest Editor for Clothing and Textiles Research Journal and has chaired international conferences. Her work bridges creative and academic contributions, emphasizing real-world applications in fashion pedagogy and industry collaboration.
