Kim Grinfeder is a Professor and Department Chair of Interactive Media at the University of Miami's School of Communication. He leads the Institute of Data Science and Computing’s creative computing efforts and spearheads UMVerse, a spatial computing initiative that has catalyzed over 50 interdisciplinary research projects across campus.
Research Interests
Kim’s work focuses on creating socially impactful narratives using immersive media, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI). His research explores the intersection of technology, storytelling, and social/environmental advocacy, with applications in medicine, architecture, cinema, and journalism.

Advising and Collaborations

Kim founded and directs UMVerse, a university-wide initiative advancing spatial computing research. He also collaborates with the Institute of Data Science and Computing, integrating immersive technologies into diverse academic and clinical domains.
