Professor Kim Bower is a Professor of Innovation in Languages Education at the Sheffield Institute of Education, Sheffield Hallam University. She holds leadership roles including President of the Association for Language Learning and chairs international conferences on interdisciplinary language learning. Her work focuses on CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), teacher education, and learner motivation. She leads the ADiBE European research project on multilingual classrooms and is a National Teaching Fellow (2017). Her teaching spans initial teacher training, Masters, and doctoral supervision, emphasizing pedagogies that foster intercultural awareness and digital literacy in early years education.
Research interests include plurilingual learning, cross-disciplinary networks, and early career teacher identities. She coordinates Sheffield Hallam's National Teaching Fellows network and contributes to policy projects like the Anglo-French Bilateral Exchange Programme.
