Khalil Masmoudi is an Instructor of Arabic at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures within the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds an M.A. in Arabic Language and Literature from the Université de Sfax, Tunisia.
His research interests span Arabic language, modern Arabic literature, and North African studies. Masmoudi has extensive teaching experience, including roles at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, where he taught Arabic language and culture. At the University of Delaware, he has instructed all levels of Arabic since 2006.
He is a key developer of the university's Study Abroad Programs in Tunisia (established in 2008) and Morocco (launched in 2015). In 2012, he served as the Academic Director of the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) program in Tunisia.
Masmoudi has actively participated in academic workshops and conferences, contributing to language pedagogy and cultural exchange initiatives. His work emphasizes bridging linguistic and cultural understanding across Arabic-speaking regions.
