Khalil Habrih

Khalil Habrih is a Part-Time Professor at Sociological and Anthropological Studies. They hold dual Master's degrees from École des Hautes études en sciences sociales (General Sociology) and Sciences Po. Paris (Comparative Political Sociology).

Research Focus: Habrih's work explores urban transformations in Paris, particularly through:

• Urban spaces regulation and planning technologies
• Racial experiences and gentrification processes
• Surveillance practices and police zoning impacts
• Queer theory and leisure distribution dynamics
• Political and psychological consequences of policing

Awards: Recipient of the William A. Douglass Prize in Europeanist Anthropology. Their research combines fieldwork in Paris with theoretical frameworks from critical urban studies, ethnography, and queer theory. Teaching includes courses in historical anthropology, political anthropology, health anthropology, and African anthropology.
