Khalid Nadvi

Khalid Nadvi is Professor of International Development at the University of Manchester's Global Development Institute. His research examines global trade, labor standards, and industrial development impacts in emerging economies.

Research focuses:

• Global production network governance
• Labor standards in value chains
• Rising Powers' influence on global trade
• Sub-Saharan African industrial development

Nadvi leads ESRC-funded projects on Rising Powers and global labor governance. His comparative work analyzes how China and India shape sustainability standards while investigating EU trade negotiations with emerging economies. Fieldwork spans South/Southeast Asia, Brazil and South Africa.
