Kevin Zollmann is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Carnegie Mellon University and a Visiting Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). He holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Kansas State University and a master's degree and Ph.D. from the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of California, Irvine.
Research Interests
Zollmann's work employs mathematical and computer simulation models to analyze social behavior in humans and non-human animals. His research comprises two primary projects:
- Game-theoretic models of animal communication in contexts of partial conflict of interest (relevant to ecology, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of modeling).
- Analysis of scientific social structures using economic models to study how communication patterns and incentives influence scientific practice.
