Kevin Roy, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Family Science at the University of Maryland's School of Public Health. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University (1999) and earlier degrees from Georgetown University. His research focuses on the life course of marginalized men, particularly their transitions into adulthood and fatherhood, and the intersections of policy systems (e.g., welfare, incarceration) with caregiving roles. Key areas include masculinities, mental health, and qualitative methodologies.
Notable awards include the 2022 Cognella Innovation Award and Delta Omega membership. His funded projects include W.T.
