Dr. Kevin Ringelman is an Associate Professor of Waterfowl Ecology at LSU, holding the H. Dale Hall Ducks Unlimited Professorship in Wetlands and Waterfowl Conservation. His research integrates field ecology with emerging technologies to address waterfowl conservation challenges.
Research focuses on:
- Nest ecology and recruitment dynamics
- UAV-based wildlife monitoring
- Wetland habitat assessment
- Population estimation methods
Current projects include drone-based waterfowl surveys in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley, wood duck nesting studies using PIT-tag technology, and mottled duck ecology in hurricane-impacted landscapes. Ringelman serves as Faculty Fellow in the Ogden Honors College and teaches Wildlife Management, Waterfowl Ecology, and Behavioral Ecology courses.
