Kevin Pitts is a Research Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the Grainger College of Engineering. He holds concurrent roles as Chief Research Officer at Fermilab and previously served as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (2017-2021). His research focuses on high-energy physics experiments, including contributions to the CDF collaboration at Fermilab and leadership in the Muon g-2 experiment. Pitts earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Oregon in 1994.
Education: B.A. in Physics and Mathematics (Anderson University, 1987); M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics (University of Oregon, 1989 and 1994).
Research Interests: Heavy quark physics, Higgs boson studies, muon g-2 measurement, and detector systems design.
