Dr Kevin Oh is an Adjunct Professor at Macquarie University's Applied Biosciences school and serves as a Research Scientist at CSIRO. He is an evolutionary ecologist specializing in genetics, genomics, and conservation biology, with a focus on invasive species management and biocontrol techniques.
Education:
- PhD in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (2009), University of Arizona
- Bachelor of Arts in Biology (2001), Bowdoin College
His research integrates evolutionary biology and population genetics with whole-genome sequencing to address challenges in wildlife conservation and vertebrate/invertebrate pest control. Recent work includes population genomics of house mice and development of gene drive technologies for invasive species.
Key research outputs include studies on gene drives, rodent management, and invasive species in journals like Ecology and Evolution and PLoS ONE. His scientific awards include the Mendenhall Fellow designation.
Projects:
- "What triggers house mouse outbreaks in Australian cropping systems" (2022–2025), examining social structures in population regulation
- "Invertebrate microinjection equipment for PC2 invertebrate facility" (2021), supporting biocontrol research
