Kevin Maritato is an Instructor and Math and Data Science and Social Justice Fellow at the State University of New York at Old Westbury. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Summa Cum Laude) and a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Stony Brook University, where he also completed a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics (Quantitative Finance concentration) and is nearing completion of an Applied Mathematics PhD focusing on Optimization Approaches in Risk Management. His research interests include addressing gender enrollment disparities in STEM, quantitative finance, and applied mathematical methodologies in risk assessment.
Prior to SUNY Old Westbury, he taught at Suffolk County Community College, LIU Post, SUNY Farmingdale, and served as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for Statistics and Data Science at Housatonic Community College in Connecticut. His academic career reflects a commitment to both technical expertise and equitable education initiatives.
