Kevin M. Keener, Ph.D., P.E., is a Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph and holds the Barrett Family Foundation Chair in Sustainable Food Engineering. He joined the University of Guelph in 2019 and has visiting professor appointments at South China University of Technology, University College Dublin, and Dublin Institute of Technology. A Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), Dr. Keener's research focuses on sustainable food engineering technologies.
- Research Interests: Food technology, safety, and bioprocessing; non-thermal technologies like high voltage atmospheric cold plasma (HVACP), ozone, and ultrasound; thermal innovations such as controlled dynamic radiant frying; and sustainable food packaging design/recycling.
