Kevin Chua is Associate Professor specializing in 18th-19th century European and Southeast Asian art at Texas Tech University's School of Art. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and has held fellowships at CASVA and UCLA's Center for 17th-18th Century Studies.
His interdisciplinary research examines European and Southeast Asian modernism through formal analysis and historicity. Key interests include colonial/postcolonial visual cultures, global modernism, Marxist art theory, ecological aesthetics, and decolonial methodologies.
