Kevin A Escudero

Kevin A Escudero is an Associate Professor of American Studies and Ethnic Studies at Brown University. He co-founded the Migration Studies Initiative and holds affiliations with Sociology, the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society, and the Center for Environmental Humanities. His research focuses on race, migration, imperialism, and Indigenous movements. Escudero holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and MSL from Yale Law School.

His research explores intersections between immigrant and Indigenous activism, particularly in U.S. territories like Guam. Current projects include studies on immigrant graduate students' legal challenges and decolonization movements. His work has received NSF CAREER funding and multiple awards for scholarship and teaching.

Escudero advises undergraduate research through the Royce Fellowship and leads the Immigrant Student Research Project Lab. He has served as Special Advisor to Brown's Provost for Undocumented Students and is a Public Voices Fellow at the OpEd Project.

He collaborates with institutions like the Swearer Center for Public Service and chairs Brown's Ethnic Studies concentration.
