About
Dr. Kerry Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment at Kingston University's Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment. She holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolution from Stony Brook University and conducts research on global environmental change impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem function.
Her fieldwork spans tropical forests in Madagascar and Puerto Rico, and temperate peatlands in the UK and Spain. Research integrates multi-scale ecological data to understand biodiversity responses to anthropogenic pressures. Current projects investigate trait-based approaches for ecosystem reconstruction, drought tolerance in tropical trees, and conservation strategies for endangered primates.
Dr. Brown contributes to large-scale ecological initiatives including the TRY Plant Trait Database and develops methodologies for assessing ecosystem changes across temporal scales.
