Kerri Augusto, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Psychology and Human Services at William James College. Her work bridges clinical psychology practice with innovative educational strategies. She holds a PhD from Virginia Tech (1995), an MS from Virginia Tech (1992), and a BA from Colby College (1990).
Her research focuses on creative pedagogy across live, online, and hybrid formats, particularly interdisciplinary case studies and gamification in course design. Clinically, she specializes in treating depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and chronic pain's mental health impacts, integrating CBT, clinical hypnosis, EMDR, and ACT approaches.
Dr. Augusto has received the 2015 Trustee's Award for establishing Becker College's first Master’s program and the 2011 President's Award for Teaching Excellence. She maintains professional affiliations with the APA (Divisions 2,12,17,30), ACES, and EMDRIA. Her community work includes roles at the Community Counseling Clinic and BC5 Cheerleading Camp.
Her professional certifications include Licensed Clinical Psychologist (MA), Health Service Provider in Psychology (MA), EMDR certification, and Clinical Hypnosis certification. She has led academic roles such as Department Chair and Program Coordinator at Becker College, alongside supervising master's-level clinical training.
