Kenzie Allen is Assistant Professor of English at York University specializing in multimodal poetry and Indigenous creative expression. A first-generation descendant of Wisconsin's Oneida Nation, her work explores diasporic movements through literary cartography and archival engagement.
Her research investigates Indigenous sovereignties through poetry that incorporates boarding school histories and Haudenosaunee traditions. Awarded the James Welch Prize and 92NY Discovery Prize, her poems appear in Poetry, Boston Review, and Narrative Magazine.
Allen holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and MFA from University of Michigan. Her debut poetry collection is Cloud Missives (Tin House, 2024).
