Kenyotta Eugene Cross

Dr. Kenyotta Eugene Cross serves as Associate Professor and Clinical Counseling Master’s of Science Program Director in the Department of Psychology within the College of Health Professions at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

Her academic credentials include:

• Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Sports Administration and Activities Management from Henderson State University
• EdD in Human Resources and Workforce Development Education from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (2010)
• PhD in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma State University

With over 30 years of professional experience in disability services, Dr. Cross focuses on self-efficacious behaviors among racially and ethnically underrepresented populations and employment barriers for persons with disabilities. Her clinical expertise spans rehabilitation counseling and mental health interventions.

She maintains active professional certifications as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Prior to joining RFUMS in November 2023, she held leadership roles at Langston University including Associate Professor, Graduate Program Coordinator, and Research Associate Professor at the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center.

As Program Director, she oversees curriculum development for clinical counselor training while maintaining research initiatives addressing systemic barriers in disability employment.
