Kenny Hopkinson

Kenny Hopkinson is a Lecturer in the School of Communication Studies at James Madison University (JMU), where he also served as Assistant Director of Individual Events prior to his current role. He joined JMU in 2019 after teaching and coaching competitive forensics in Nebraska and Kansas.

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degrees in Organizational Communication and Speech Communication (University of Nebraska at Kearney)
• Master’s degree in Communication and Rhetoric (University of Nebraska at Omaha)

His research interests focus on group collaboration, mediation strategies, first-generation student experiences, competitive forensics, and effective speech presentation techniques. Personal interests include fiber arts, crafting, and DIY furniture projects.
