Kenneth Thomas (also known as Ken Thomas) is a Part-Time Lecturer at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) in the Department of Cinematic Arts under the College of the Arts. He joined CSULB in 2024 to teach Editing. Thomas holds an MFA in Filmmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BS in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University
His creative work focuses on documentary filmmaking about independent music culture and craft beer, including his Aquarius Records Trilogy of documentaries. His award-winning documentary It Came from Aquarius Records (2022) explores the legacy of the iconic SF record store, while Blood, Sweat + Vinyl: DIY in the 21st Century (2011) celebrates underground music labels. He also produced the beer-focused series Heavy Brewing.

He actively shares his production expertise through teaching and maintains a YouTube channel with live concert footage from 2000-2015.
