Kenneth Shepard

Professor Kenneth Shepard is the Lau Family Professor of Electrical Engineering and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia Engineering. He holds a joint appointment in two departments and has made significant contributions to nanoscale device physics, bioelectronics, and low-power computing.

• B.S.E. from Princeton University (1987), valedictorian
• M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University (1988, 1992)

His research focuses on integrated molecular diagnostic platforms, single-molecule bioelectronics, and power-efficient embedded computing systems. He leads projects involving imaging technologies and large-scale data analysis.
