Kenneth Peterson is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at Furman University, where he teaches courses in microeconomics, econometrics, urban economics, environmental economics, and population economics. He also contributes to executive education programs, including teaching economics and strategy to employees of Blue Cross-Blue Shield of South Carolina.
His research focuses on the valuation of urban and environmental amenities, the economics of parking, and urban growth and development. He holds a PhD and MA in Economics from State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Iowa State University.
He is actively involved in pedagogical projects related to economics education, including contributions to the Starting Point: Teaching and Learning Economics initiative and Liberal Arts Leadership programs.
