Kenneth Levine

Kenneth Levine is an Associate Professor and BA/MA Program Coordinator in the Department of Communication at the University at Albany. His research focuses on organizational communication, small group dynamics, leadership, and vocational anticipatory socialization (VAS). He has pioneered studies on how emerging adults form career expectations through social networks, media, and internet sources, particularly examining socio-economic disparities and first-generation student barriers. His healthcare communication research explores organizational culture's impact on patient safety and medical error reporting.

Levine's work has been funded by organizations including the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. He has developed a charismatic leadership measurement scale used in multiple dissertations. His recent studies address pandemic-era work-life balance, celebrity influence on career choices, and post-pandemic career values.
