Kenneth Kunkel is a Research Professor at NC State University's Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1978), an M.S. in Meteorology from the same institution (1974), and a B.S. in Physics from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (1972).
His research focuses on climate science, atmospheric processes, and meteorological phenomena, particularly extreme weather events.
