Dr. Kenneth Greene is an Associate Professor of Government at the University of Texas at Austin's College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on authoritarian regimes, democratization processes, and electoral dynamics in new democracies, particularly in Mexico.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and has published extensively in top journals like Political Analysis, Comparative Political Studies, and World Politics. His work has been recognized with multiple awards including the 2008 Best Book Award from the Comparative Democratization Section of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and the 2017 Pi Sigma Alpha / Franklin L. Burdette Prize.
His research on vote buying, political parties, and democratic backsliding in Latin America has been supported through 14 survey projects where he served as Principal Investigator, including the Mexico 2012 Panel Study and 2018 Elections and Quality of Democracy Panel Survey. He has also co-edited the volume Mexico's Evolving Democracy (2015).
