Kendra Jewell

Dr. Kendra Jewell (she/they) is a researcher affiliated with the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Arts, where she works as a Housing Research Project Manager at the Centre for Climate Justice. Her academic background includes a PhD in Anthropology from UBC (2023) and prior studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Kendra's research focuses on:

• Environmental justice frameworks
• Anthropological analysis of climate change
• Ethnographic studies of climate denialism
• Cultural responses to ecological crises
• Interdisciplinary environmental policy research
• Community engagement in climate adaptation

She has previously conducted fieldwork in Coastal Florida and contributed to Naomi Klein's book Doppelganger (2021-2023). Kendra maintains active involvement in community activities including curling, softball, and home brewing in East Vancouver.
