Kelly Morrison

Kelly Morrison is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she joined after over 20 years at Michigan State University. She teaches courses on gender, health, and instructional communication, and co-teaches CMST 110: Introduction to Interpersonal Communication.

Her research focuses on interpersonal communication, with an emphasis on gender, health communication, and deceptive message production. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence through awards at Michigan State University and actively mentors students, including McNair Scholars and participants in UAB’s St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Up ‘Til Dawn organization.

Personal interests include being a Chicago Cubs fan, team-teaching with her spouse Steve McCornack, and fitness instruction. She has three sons and enjoys visiting Cosmic Candy in Pentwater, Michigan.
