Kelly M. Walsh

Kelly M. Walsh is a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry within the College of Chemistry. Her research focuses on the magnetic and optical properties of two-dimensional materials and perovskites, with an emphasis on defect engineering and spin-correlated phenomena.

Education:

Her work explores chemically encoded magnetic tunability in 2D crystals, leveraging anion exchange, heterostructure design, and rare earth doping to enhance material functionalities for applications in spintronics and optoelectronics. Recent publications highlight advancements in air-stable ferromagnetic perovskites, magnetic amplification at designer defects, and luminescent nanocrystals.
