Kelly Johnstone

Dr. Kelly Johnstone is an Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Occupational Hygiene program at the University of Queensland's School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. As a certified occupational hygienist, her research focuses on evaluating worker exposures to pesticides, respirable crystalline silica dust, and other hazardous chemicals in industries including agriculture, construction, and healthcare.

Her research portfolio includes studies on waste anesthetic gas exposure, thermal risk assessment, indoor air quality, and dust characterization. Johnstone serves as Chair of the Rural Industry Sector Standing Committee for Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and is active in professional organizations including the Australian Institute of Health and Safety.
