Professor Kelly Goldsmith is a Full Professor and E. Bronson Ingram Chair at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Formerly at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, she holds a Ph.D. from Yale University and a B.S. from Duke University. Her research bridges consumer psychology, behavioral science, and marketing, focusing on how scarcity, goals, and threats influence decision-making. Her work has been featured in top journals like Journal of Marketing Research and Journal of Consumer Research, and media outlets including the BBC and New York Times.
She serves as Faculty Director of the Hoogland Undergraduate Business Program and Ingram Scholars Program. Awards include the SEC Academic Leadership Development Program (2023–24), Marketing Science Institute Scholar (2020), and multiple teaching accolades. Her interdisciplinary research informs marketers, firms, and policymakers, addressing topics like sustainable consumption and ESG integration.
