Kelly Behre is a Continuing Lecturer and Director of the Domestic and Sexual Violence Law Clinic at the UC Davis School of Law. She previously held roles as Visiting Associate Professor at West Virginia University College of Law (2011–2014) and Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical Legal Education at the University of Alabama School of Law (2009–2011). She earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee University and B.A. from Emory University. Her research focuses on domestic violence, sexual assault, family law, and public interest advocacy.
Behre has extensive clinical experience, including founding the Domestic and Sexual Assault Law Clinic at WVU and directing the Domestic Violence Law Clinic at Alabama. She serves on the ABA Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence and provides trainings nationally on legal responses to violence. Her awards include the 2020 UC Davis Distinguished Service Award.
Her scholarly work addresses Title IX, campus sexual misconduct policies, and family law reforms. She emphasizes legal advocacy for marginalized communities and has authored/co-authored numerous articles on violence prevention and legal education trends.
