Kelly-Anne Doherty

Kelly-Anne Doherty, JD is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Studies, Program Director, and Pre-Law Advisor at Regis College. She combines her experience as a former state prosecutor with academic expertise in criminal justice, law, and restorative justice.

• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from Suffolk University Law School, Bachelor of Arts in English (BA) from College of the Holy Cross.

Her research focuses on restorative justice, particularly through her involvement with the South Coast Youth Court in New Bedford and Fall River, where she serves as a judge, board member, and legal mentor. This initiative applies restorative justice principles to juvenile cases, emphasizing rehabilitation over punitive measures.

Dr. Doherty teaches courses such as Courts, Criminal Law, Criminology, Introduction to Criminal Justice, and Rethinking Justice: Restorative and Rehabilitative Practices. Her work bridges practical legal experience with academic exploration of justice systems.
