Dr. Keith Tolfrey is a Reader in Paediatric Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University's School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, where he has served since 2007. He holds leadership roles including Director of Student Experience and Outcomes, chairing the Student Staff Liaison Committee across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His academic credentials include a BA(Ed), MPhil, PhD, and Fellowship of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (FBASES).
His research focuses on paediatric exercise physiology, metabolism, and disability sport science, with a strong emphasis on translating findings into public health interventions. Notable projects include the 'Stand Out in Class' initiative to reduce sedentary behavior in children and studies on postprandial metabolism in adolescents. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and co-edited the Oxford Textbook of Children’s Sport and Exercise Medicine.
