Keith Muir

Professor Keith Muir holds the SINAPSE Chair of Clinical Imaging (Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health) at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Institute of Neurological Sciences. His research focuses on acute stroke treatment, advanced neuroimaging techniques, and clinical trials. He leads the South Glasgow Acute Stroke Service, emphasizing thrombolysis and imaging biomarkers like CT perfusion and MRI sequences. Collaborations include preclinical rodent models and clinical stroke studies. Notable projects include the WAKE-UP trial analyzing MRI-guided thrombolysis and the ATTEST-2 trial comparing tenecteplase vs. alteplase.
