Dr. Keith E.J. Tyo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. His research lab focuses on rewiring microbial sensing and metabolic responses through synthetic biology approaches to address global health challenges. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from MIT and a B.S. from West Virginia University.
Research interests include developing programmable cellular systems for environmental sensing, metabolic network engineering, and sustainable bioproduction. His work aims to create disruptive technologies for disease diagnosis, drug development, and sustainable manufacturing.
