Keith Chan is an Associate Professor at the Silberman School of Social Work, Hunter College, City University of New York, where he teaches Social Work Research and Aging Processes. He holds a PhD from Boston College, MSW from Boston College, and BA from Brown University.
His research examines health disparities across the lifespan, focusing on social determinants affecting Asian Americans, older adults, immigrants, and people with disabilities. Current projects investigate the intersection of opioid misuse, disability, and mental health outcomes across different age groups.
Chan has secured multiple research grants including NIH funding examining neighborhood effects on poverty and disability among older Asian Americans in NYC. His intergenerational service-learning initiatives support homebound older adults and caregivers.
