Keir Wefferling is an Assistant Professor and Curator of the Gary A. Fewless Herbarium at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's College of Science, Engineering and Technology. Since joining in 2020, he has taught Field Botany and Plant Biodiversity courses while conducting research on plant systematics and peatland ecosystems.

His research focuses on cryptic biological diversity in seedless plants like mosses and ferns, particularly at species-to-population levels within polyploid complexes. He also investigates functional trait evolution, genome duplication events, and the ecological dynamics of Great Lakes peat-accumulating wetlands through bryophyte documentation.
As Herbarium Curator, he maintains botanical collections at the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity. When not working, he engages in field botany and natural history studies.
