Ke Tang

Ke Tang is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Thermophysics from Zhejiang University (2005) and a B.S. in Refrigeration and Cryogenics from the same institution (2000). His academic career includes roles as an Adjunct Research Associate Professor (2018–2022), Lecturer (2022–2023), and Associate Professor at Zhejiang University (2007–2015). He has also served as a Senior Technology Manager and Research Engineer at Creative Thermal Solutions Inc. (2015–2022).

He has contributed to improving refrigerant efficiency, low-temperature refrigeration systems, and alternative energy applications.

Awards: He has received the Carl von Linde Award (2011), Science and Technology Awards of Zhejiang Province (2006), and DAAD Scholarship (2004). He is recognized for excellence in teaching at both UIUC and Zhejiang University.

Service: He serves on the Undergraduate Programs Committee, Specialized Faculty Recruiting Committee, and Course and Curricula Committee at UIUC. He has organized sessions at international conferences on cryogenics and refrigeration.
