Kayley Birch-Hurst is an Associate Lecturer and Post Graduate Researcher at the University of the West of England (UWE), affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). She holds a BSc in Psychology from Cardiff University (2019) and is currently completing a PhD through the ESRC South West Doctoral Training Partnership, focusing on visual search mechanisms in radiologists using eye-tracking technology. Her roles include teaching the 'Developing Self and Society' module and supervising students at level 2.
Her research interests span cognitive neuroscience, visual perception, and perceptual learning, with a specific emphasis on the cognitive and neural underpinnings of visual search. Her PhD project investigates radiological error mitigation through improved training interventions for professionals and machines.
