Kayla Ibarra is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Theater Studies at Emory University, focusing on survivor-centered theater and neurodivergent perspectives. She holds a BA from Colorado State University and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. Her work explores healing through art, particularly addressing trauma and systemic inequities. Current projects include Invisible Soldiers, examining support for sexual trauma survivors, and Star Party, a stargazing-inspired exploration of neurodivergence and identity.
Kayla has been actively involved with the SheLA festival since 2019, progressing from House Manager to Show Mentor. She will contribute to the 2022 SheATL festival this summer. Her office is located in Rich Memorial Building, Room 214.
