Kayla Green

Dr. Kayla Green is a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam's Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and incoming Practor Equal Opportunities at Albeda vocational college (starting April 2025). Her research examines neurodevelopmental adaptations to societal challenges in adolescents, focusing on mental health resilience, socioeconomic disparities, and youth participation frameworks.

Research interests center on:

• Brain-behavior relationships during adolescence
• Impact of poverty, climate change, and pandemics on youth wellbeing
• Neural mechanisms of resilience
• Participatory science communication methodologies
• Policy translation of developmental neuroscience

Her 20+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on adolescent neurobehavioral adaptation, with recent work emphasizing longitudinal pandemic effects, prosocial behavior development, and socioeconomic determinants of mental health.
