Ioannis Kavouras was a Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He held academic positions at institutions including the University of Glasgow, Herriot-Watt University, and the University of Glasgow prior to his return to Greece in 1984. He played a pivotal role in establishing AUEB's Department of Informatics, serving as its President for four two-year terms and contributing to its structural development, including the creation of specialized sectors.
